Real Photo frontis, tipped in. Map and portrait. Brown cloth HC w/yellow design and gold stamped title, spine gs title.

This is the inside story of a man who worked for the opium merchants in Canton during the early 1800s. Lots of personalities and drama!

Condition: Binding sound, hinges starting. Generally worn and soiled, corners abraded. Pages clean, just the fp tissue is foxed. Pencil inscriptions on ep and tp, and on p. 157, relating further information on author and the company he worked for. Paper insert with more notes.
